Shorelines Casinos (OGELP) is committed to providing accessible \ncustomer service as outlined in the Ontario Regulation 429\/07 \nAccessibility Standards for Customer Service \u2013 the four key principles \nof which are: dignity, equity, independence, and integration information\n to the general public, employees and stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACCESSIBILITY POLICY<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Shorelines Casinos (OGELP) is committed to providing its goods and \nservices in ways that respect the dignity and independence of people \nwith disabilities. We are committed to providing people with \ndisabilities, access to our goods and services in a similar manner as \nother customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Accessibility Standard for Customer Service<\/a>,\n Ontario Regulation 429\/07, became law on January 1, 2008. It is the \nfirst of five accessibility standards implemented under the \nAccessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA). The Act \nand its Regulations are important steps that are required to creating a \nbarrier-free and accessible Ontario by 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

All persons to whom this policy applies will receive training as \nrequired by the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service. Accessible\n Customer Service training has been provided to all employees who \nprovide customer service to our patrons. Shorelines Casinos colleague \nrecords of training are kept onsite and include the dates of the \ntraining and reflect the number of individuals who received the \ntraining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

COMMUNICATION & DOCUMENTATION<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take into \naccount their disability. Employees who interact with customers are \nprovided with training on how to communicate inclusively with people \nwith various types of disabilities. When providing a copy of a document \nto a person with a disability, our employees shall give the person the \ndocument, or the information contained in the document, in alternate \nformats and mediums for purposes of accommodation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PERSONAL ASSISTIVE DEVICES<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We welcome customers with disabilities to use their own personal \nassistive devices provided the assistive device does not jeopardize or \ninterfere with the integrity and assets of the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ASSISTANCE PROVIDED<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We may offer a person with a disability other reasonable measures to assist the person in obtaining, using or benefiting from our goods and services. Where OGELP has such other measures available, this must be documented in policies, practices and procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY DISRUPTION IN SERVICE<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We will make reasonable efforts to provide notice to customers, when \npossible, if services are unavailable. When a disruption occurs \nunexpectedly, notice shall conspicuously be posted as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SERVICE ANIMALS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A person with a disability may enter our premises accompanied by \ntheir guide dog or service animal in areas of the premises that are open\n to the public, unless the animal is excluded by another law. If a \nservice animal is excluded by law, other measures to provide services to\n the person with a disability may be used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SUPPORT PERSONS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We ensure entry of customers with disabilities accompanied by a \npersonal support person into all premises, subject to applicable age \nrestrictions. Standard costs will apply to personal support workers \naccompanying persons with disabilities at special events. A \u201csupport \nperson\u201d means, in relation to a person with a disability, another person\n who accompanies him or her in order to help with communication, \nmobility, personal care or medical needs or with access to goods or \nservices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EMERGENCY SITUATION<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our team is trained on emergency procedures and how to assist \ncustomers or staff that may require help during an emergency, including \npersons with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FEEDBACK<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We will acknowledge customer feedback in a timely manner that takes into account the customer\u2019s disability. We will capture and track customer feedback through available tracking systems. MODIFICATIONS TO THIS OR OTHER POLICIES<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We are committed to developing policies that respect and promote the \ndignity and independence of people with disabilities. As such, no \nchanges will be made to any policy before considering the impact on \npeople with disabilities.
